Inhoud: This paper reports on the use of videotaped role playing as a training and evaluation technique in a program designed to train professionals, paraprofessionals and volunteers in the aging services network in key areas of knowledge, skills and attitudes related to work with the frail elderly. Role playing was conducted on an individual basis with each trainee prior to and following a training program and was designed to approximate a real life counseling/outreach situation with an older client. This paper discusses specifics of the role play exercise from a training perspective and also presents results from its use as part of an overall program evaluation.
