This article reports on the organization and implementation of gerontologically oriented training workshops for three occupational categories: (1) emergency medical personnel including police, fire fighters, and emergency medical technicians; (2) financial service providers such as attorneys, certified public accountants, stockbrokers, and bankers; and (3) state and local elected public officials. Workshops were geared toward providing accurate information about aging, old people and the aging services network. The article describes processes involved in planning the workshops, workshop content, and evaluations of workshops. Training materials developed for workshop use are described as are sources for obtaining them. The article concludes with caveats for those who would conduct similar workshops.
