Inhoud: The Algerian northeast region is characterized by a transitional Mediterranean climate marked by seasonal oscillations (in summer, the climate is rather subtropical, making the hot season one of the longest, while in winter, it has much more in common with a temperate zone climate). In the area of Skikda, this difference, combined with prominent relief, leads to very large spatio-temporal variations in rainfall. The precipitation type is somewhat torrential. To solve water problems in rural areas, one must use efficient techniques and practical methods. Deficiency of rainfall data is one of the problems that projects may encounter, especially while studying land remediation or improvement. Two parameters are presented in this article. The first relates to the average yearly rainfall amount, a quantity which occurs in many aspects in hydrology, where its evaluation depends on a dense network of properly set up raingauges or interpolation from pluviometric maps which, in the geographical context of the region, leads to less precise and sometimes wrong results. The study of interfactorial correlations is the appropriate solution. The second parameter concerns the average maximal intensity, the main element in the study of floods, whose estimation presents problems as far as the lack of appropriate data is concerned. The proposed method is rather classical and simple using the average and commonly available data in all rainfall stations.
