Technology and the New Meaning of Educational Equity

Title: Technology and the New Meaning of Educational Equity
Author: Wiburg, Karin M.
Appeared in: Computers in the schools
Paging: Volume 20 (2003) nr. 1-2 pages 113-128
Year: 2003-08-04
Contents: This article investigates the changing meaning of educational equity as a result of the growth of technology, especially computer-mediated networks and learning environments. The work is grounded in an overview of educational equity and access in U.S. history and the changed meaning of access in a digital age. Perhaps the most important point made is the need to broaden our definition of access and equity and to focus on connections between leadership, teaching, and technology.
