Title: WebQuests
Author: Vidoni, Kimberly L.
Maddux, Cleborne D.
Appeared in: Computers in the schools
Paging: Volume 19 (2002) nr. 1-2 pages 101-117
Year: 2002-08-27
Contents: The WebQuest, an inquiry-oriented, Web-based classroom-learning tool, invented by Dodge (1997), is discussed in terms of its applicability to classroom learning situations. Specifically discussed is its ability to inspire critical thinking in students. The WebQuest format, as defined by Dodge (1997), is compared to a critical thinking framework established by Weinstein (2000). It appears that WebQuests meet all six of Weinstein's key elements in critical thinking and therefore are powerful tools for inspiring critical thinking skills in students. Further research is recommended to affirm this notion.
