Nontraditional students are often hurried, as they juggle the many demands of life in addition to those of student. They may be unfocused, underprepared, and not of a frame of mind to devote time and thoughtful energy to library research. Library staff can help students by making available helps for them -guides for using equipment and materials, from the PAC, Netscape, microfiche, bookshelves, their majors. These, with individualized orientation programs, help students evolve into information consumers able to think about, research, and synthesize materials they need. Information use is a lifelong skill.
