Community colleges throughout the US increasingly acknowledge the imperative to prepare their students to be globally-competent citizens. Since a key component of this process involves curricular change to infuse global perspectives throughout the disciplines, the link between teaching faculty and their library colleagues has never been more important. Many of the information resources which facilitate course development and revision use information technology to provide both substance and access points for faculty and student researchers. Librarians have an extraordinary opportunity to become full partners in the effort to globalize their institutions. This article outlines a number of directions for this collaboration. Global |
