Title: From Libraries to Learning Resources
Author: Bock, D. Joleen
Appeared in: Community and junior college libraries
Paging: Volume 3 (1985) nr. 2 pages 35-46
Year: 1985-01-23
Contents: This article chronicles the evolution of two-year college libraries from small repositories in the early 1900s to the multifaceted learning resources centers of the 1980s. During this period their institutions changed from strictly junior colleges with transfer programs to community colleges with a wide range of curricula, learning centers spread throughout communities, and huge individualized instructional programs for adults of all ages with many interests and needs. This, combined with changing technology, federal funding, new personnel patterns, and varied instructional modes, revolutionized two-year college libraries.
