Over 1,000 students have completed a basic, self-instructional library skills program on a large community college campus where English is not the native language of 40% of the students. Half the English instructors have voluntarily allowed the program to be integrated into their Composition courses. The program consists of a two-part manual, review exercises, "hands-on" assignments, and computer-scored tests. For fall term, 1982-83, the median grades for the course and for the library unit were virtually the same: Students, faculty members, and librarians are satisfied with the program.
