Reference librarians at Saddleback Community College in Orange County, California, planned and implemented a pilot project to instruct incoming freshmen in the basic resources available in the college library. Life Skills 2000 was designed to capture recent graduates of high school before they actually attended their first formal course. This article describes the goals and objectives of this pilot project, planning procedures, fund-raising, promotional strategies, and the overall organization of the workshop. |
