  Do You Need an RFP?

Title: Do You Need an RFP?
Author: Matthews, Joseph R.
Appeared in: College and undergraduate libraries
Paging: Volume 1 (1994) nr. 2 pages 55-64
Year: 1994-12-09
Contents: An RFP is neither a guarantee for success nor a recipe for disaster. Libraries should consider the merits and limitations of RFPs before blithely developing and issuing them. A recommended alternative involves establishing selection criteria and asking a selected group of vendors in for in-depth demonstrations following a script previously prepared by the library.
