This citation analysis of twenty-five theses, twenty-five articles, and a single textbook describes the citing behavior of authors studying ichthyology and places these observations within context of similar studies conducted across a variety of disciplines. Findings indicate that similarities and differences in literature utilized are highly dependent on the subtleties of topics chosen. In conclusion the author makes some methodological suggestions concerning the creation of future citation analysis studies. |
