Eighty-two libraries in the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) participated in a survey to assess the current practices by academic and research libraries for planning and managing moves of collections, staff, and services. The main emphasis of the survey was on temporary relocation of collections and, in particular, how these libraries managed the transfer of collections during moves and how materials were accessed and cared for while in their temporary locations. This paper highlights the major findings of the survey to assist libraries engaging in similar endeavors. |
