Wife abuse as a national concern is gaining increasing attention. Prior to the 1970s this problem was only sporadically addressed in the literature or in the judicial system. However, the past several years have witnessed a growing amount of both legal research and activity regarding this matter. Statutory law and court decisions relating to spouse abuse have rapidly escalated in an attempt to define and redefine the right of the married individual when a partner commits a violent action against his spouse. This bibliography provides selected citations relating to wife abuse in a legal context. |
