This article discusses the public relations campaign for the U.S. tour of St. Therese's relics from 1999 to 2000, from the approach of devotional-promotional communication, a particular form of communication that inspires allegiance for an individual, political entity, or religion. Textual analysis of media coverage, survey research, and personal in-depth interviews are used to examine the campaign. The campaign appears to have been successful for organizers in terms of media coverage, attendance, and other effects.
