Today's children grow up with electronics in their lives: computers, televisions, DVDs, Nintendos, toys, and kitchen appliances. Child therapy training and literature have not typically included these electronic modalities. This poses a dilemma: children in treatment expect electronic equipment and turn to electronics for comfort in play and communication, but their therapists are more comfortable playing and communicating in nontechnological modes. Here I introduce three articles that present three therapists' approaches to working with children using technological modalities.
