Surveyed graduates of a psychology internship in a department of pediatrics with a questionnaire regarding their current professional activities and their assessment of the internship as preparation for their professional role. Sixty replied, for a response rate of 75%. At least 92% of the former interns who responded were working with children, and 71% were employed in multiple sites, including private practice (63%) and medical settings (60%). Postgraduate training was common (40%). Considerations for training models to prepare psychologists to work in pediatric sites are discussed. |
