Inhoud: Questionnaires concerning mental health intervention efforts with pre-pubertal children were sent to all licensed psychologists in Texas. Almost half of the 724 respondents indicated they had some therapeutic involvement with children. The respondents tend to be engaged in a variety of work activities, but spend more time offering therapy in a private practice arrangement. The psychologists overwhelmingly prefer the use of family therapy and behavioral procedures with their child clients. The majority of the psychologists see their clients for relatively brief periods of time. The results appear to indicate that psychologists work with only a small portion of those children in need of psychological services. A comprehensive assessment of children's psychological problems and needs along with a systematic overview of the total mental health delivery system is indicated.
