Self-monitoring reactivity and a severe feeding problem

Titel: Self-monitoring reactivity and a severe feeding problem
Auteur: Holmes, Clarissa S.
Verschenen in: Journal of clinical child and adolescent psychology
Paginering: Jaargang 11 (1982) nr. 1 pagina's 66-71
Jaar: 1982
Inhoud: The case of a 5½ year old multiply handicapped boy with a severe food refusal problem is described. During a preliminary three week data collection period, before any planned intervention was introduced, daily feedings began improving on both subjective and more objective parental ratings. Self-monitoring reactivity appeared to contribute to the improvement as the boy's parents reported that they altered their feeding expectations and behaviors as they acquired an understanding of feeding patterns. Improvement was maintained three weeks after initial data collection on the parental ratings. Follow-up six and 12 months after the cessation of counseling contacts indicated that improvement was still maintained, although other factors may also explain this maintenance.
