Torque: An at-risk indicator of reading or behavior problems?

Title: Torque: An at-risk indicator of reading or behavior problems?
Author: Furlong, Michael J.
Appeared in: Journal of clinical child and adolescent psychology
Paging: Volume 10 (1981) nr. 3 pages 165-167
Year: 1981
Contents: Blau (1977b) postulated that the drawing of circles in the clockwise direction (torque) by children is an indicator of mixed cerebral dominance and is associated with reading and behavior disabilities. This study examined the use of torque as a screening indicator for at-risk children through multiple regression and Bayesian analyses. Results indicated that a test of circle drawing may be a useful procedure for screening for reading disabilities but not for behavior problems.
