Statistical analysis shows that fibre length is highly significantly correlated with the amplitude of migration and that fibre diameter is significantly correlated with the degree of migration. The flexural ridigity of jute fibre seems to have only a small influence on fibre migration in jute yarn. The frictional characteristics of the jute-fibre filaments, however, play a significant role in controlling their migratory behaviour. |
