An account is given of the examination of various kinds of liquor obtained from the commercial scouring of blends of crossbred wools, and relations are established between the BOD5 and the COD on the one hand and the content of suint, top and oxidized grease, and dirt on the other. The reduction in pollution load brought about by treatments that reduce one or more of these components can therefore be estimated. |
