One of the factors involved in the dynamics of fabric formation, i.e., the forces developing during beat-up, is the fabric elasticity, a parameter that has been included in some previous investigations. In this paper, the combined effects of the fabric elasticity with the warp tension and elasticity, the coefficient of friction for yarn against yarn, and the shed and weave angles at the moment of beat-up (at beat-up) are considered to investigate their effect on the dynamics of fabric formation, indicated by the weaving resistance and warp tension at the moment of beat-up (at beat-up) with the use of a simple model of the plain weave. Trends of the experimental findings are compared with the results obtained from the model.
