This paper introduces a second mechanism by which surface fibres can be trapped during two-strand-yarn formation, which may also contribute to the improved performance of such yarns. The effects of strand-spacing, strand-twist, and machine parameters on properties affecting weavability are explored, and the possible contribution of the two fibre-trapping mechanisms is discussed. |
