An examination of the photostabilizing effects of twelve nickel chelates on bleached jute is reported. Outstanding photostabilizing effects were obtained with nickel chelates of diethyldithiocarbamate (chelate 2) and benzothiazole-azo phenol derivatives (chelates 5,6, and 7) and bisdithioketone (chelate 8). The chelates are known to be stabilizers of the excited-state-quencher type for polyolefins. |
