This paper details the welfare benefits Brazil provides to its military retirees, veterans and survivors. Programs can be differentiated into those targeting retired military personnel their dependants and their survivors and those targeting veterans their dependants and their survivors in general. It points out that Brazil has, arguable, adopted a very broad definition of “veterans”. It concludes that extremely generous legal provision is made for these target groups. |
