Application of the minimum spanning tree algorithm to the planning of drainage systems

Title: Application of the minimum spanning tree algorithm to the planning of drainage systems
Author: Collins, Jean-Luc
Appeared in: International journal of mining, reclamation and environment
Paging: Volume 8 (1994) nr. 1 pages 27-29
Year: 1994
Contents: Open pit mines are becoming deeper and environmental constraints more restrictive. As a result, the importance of control of mine drainage and dewatering has greatly increased in the past years. However, the decisive factor in mine drainage is economic. This paper intends to provide an algorithm that can help in the minimization of the indirect costs associated with the development of a drainage system such as power lines and service roads.
