Shovel-truck systems are widely applied in open-pit mining. In these systems spare haulage units are employed as a rule. Recommendations and rules which are used to determine the reserve truck fleet size can give significant difference in estimation of a number of units needed for a given system. The paper consider the problem of proper selection of a spare haulage unit fleet size taking into account economical and technical parameters of trucks, their exploitation process as well as the reliability indices. |
