A Business Approach to Cracking the Applications Backlog

Title: A Business Approach to Cracking the Applications Backlog
Author: Seuerson, Eric
Kozar, Kenneth A.
Appeared in: Information systems management
Paging: Volume 5 (1988) nr. 1 pages 17-21
Year: 1988
Contents: In an attempt to shrink applications backlogs, MIS managers have tried such systems-related strategies as prototyping, user-developed systems, and packaged software. This article takes a straightforward management approach to the backlog problem, in the belief that a backlog should be seen as a series of clues to underlying business problems rather than as a concrete set of defined projects.
