Ten species of calcareous nannofossil including three new genera and eight new species are described and illustrated from the Upper Eocene-Lower Oligocene of the Otway Basin, southeastern Australia. New forms are Amitha perfecta, A. prolata, Naninfula sp. nov., Notiocyrtolithus rothii, N. sp. nov.,Ommatolithus australiensis and Reticulofenestra maceria. The new genera Amitha, Notiocyrtolithus and Ommatolithus are schematically compared with known related genera. In addition, an unnamed species of the genus Lapideacassis Black 1971 is described and illustrated. The presence of this species in the Lower Tertiary of the Otway Basin supports the notion that the essentially Cretaceous genus Lapideacassis successfully crossed the Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary.
