MICROTEACHING CHILDREN ON THE COLLEGE CAMPUS: AN EVALUATION

Title: MICROTEACHING CHILDREN ON THE COLLEGE CAMPUS: AN EVALUATION
Author: Wilshaw, A. G. B.
Telford, D.
Appeared in: Learning, media and technology
Paging: Volume 4 (1978) nr. 2 pages 27-30
Year: 1978
Contents: An experiment was carried out to evaluate the usefulness of microteaching children on the college campus as part of the professional preparation of second-year Certificate students undergoing initial training. Students followed a microteaching course for one term in place of the traditional pedagogy course, and during the subsequent teaching practice, teachers' ratings of student performance were collected and analysed. The results suggest that the use of microteaching provides no particular advantage as compared to a more traditional course, nor does it have any apparent disadvantages.
