Methoxyhydroquinone was detected in the spent liquors of peroxide-bleached loblolly pine thennomechanical pulp. The potential effect of this leucochromophore and the corresponding quinone on the brightness and brightness stability of mechanical pulps bleached with peroxide is discussed. |
