Inhoud: A general model of generalized thermoviscoelasticity for isotropic material having temperature-dependent properties is established, taking into consideration the rheological properties of the volume and density. As special cases the corresponding equations for the coupled thermoviscoelasticity and the generalized thermoviscoelasticity with one or with two relaxation times are obtained. The cases of thermoviscoelasticity ignoring the rheological properties of volume or density or ignoring the temperature dependency of the material properties can be obtained from the given model. The equations of the corresponding thermoelasticity theories result from the given model as special cases. Aformulation of the boundary integral equation method, fundamental solutions of the corresponding differential equations, are obtained and the dynamic reciprocity theorem is derived for this general model. Generalizations of Green-Somiliana formulas and Maysel's formulas are obtained. An example illustrating the boundary integral equation formulation is given. An outline of the implementation of the boundary element method is discussed for the given equations. Special emphasis is given to the representation of primary fields, namely, temperature and displacement.
