A problem of a circular arc-shaped crack in an isotropic-elastic medium under the thermal loading (heat flux at infinity) is revisited, and the closed-form solution is obtained. This result corrects some errors found in a previous work by Chao and Shen (J. Thermal Stresses, Vol. 16, pp. 215-231, 1993). The present solution is verified by numerical computation using the finite element method |
