A study of the nonlinear response of orthogonally stiffened isotropic flat panels exposed to a temperature rise and a lateral pressure field is presented. A theoretical analysis and the numerical results emphasize the effects played by the bi/uniaxial stiffeners and unavoidable initial geometric imperfections on the thermomechanical load-carrying capacity of stiffened panels, and pertinent conclusions are outlined. |
