The computer is able to play a musical score. An important amount of work remains to be done, however, because the score must be given in the greatest detail. The SCRIPTU language allows a quick and easy transcription thanks to a very concise mnenonic symbolism. The numerical score then produced can oe computed right away by the “auditu” program that performs the sound synthesis. The program produces a magnetic tape that a digital to analog converter transforms into sounds. In this way steps of composition and execution can be done entirely by the computer. |
