Monophonic sound resources for the Oboe

Title: Monophonic sound resources for the Oboe
Author: Post, Nora
Appeared in: Journal of new music research
Paging: Volume 11 (1982) nr. 3 pages 131-176
Year: 1982
Contents: Monophonic (or single) sounds constitute the most diverse group of contemporary woodwind techniques. This paper presents the main categories of these sounds today as they pertain to the oboe repertoire. For convenience' sake, I have organized these techniques into three broad classifications: timbre, pitch, and other techniques. Musical examples and fingering charts have been included where appropriate; the reader who desires a thorough explanation of my fingering symbols should consult an earlier article, “Multiphonics for the Oboe” (Interface 10/2: 113-136).
