Titel: Methyl methacrylate: Evaluation of risks to health from environmental exposure in Canada

Jaar: 1994-11
Inhoud: Methyl methacrylate is included on the List of Priority Substances to be assessed under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act. Although data on concentrations in the Canadian environment were not identified, levels of methyl methacrylate in various media to which the general population may be exposed have been predicted on the basis of fugacity modelling. Based on available data, methyl methacrylate is considered to be “unclassifiable with respect to carcinogenicity in humans”, and a Tolerable Daily Intake/ Concentration (TDI/TDC) was derived on the basis of a chronic inhalation study in rodents. The estimated average daily intake of methyl methacrylate for the age group in the general population with the greatest predicted exposure is many orders of magnitude less than (by approximately 200,000 times) the tolerable daily intake.
