New methodology for the rapid detection of protein degradation in activated sludge

Title: New methodology for the rapid detection of protein degradation in activated sludge
Author: Fahey, Jed W.
Caplan, Jason A.
Appeared in: Journal of environmental science and health. Part B, Pesticides, food contaminants, and agricultural wastes
Paging: Volume 16 (1981) nr. 1 pages 67-73
Year: 1981
Contents: A rapid, inexpensive and sensitive technique has been developed for monitoring protein degradation in activated sludge. Spectropho-tometric measurement of an enzymatically released dye was made within 5 h. The sensitivity of this technique was demonstrated by measuring the effects of HgCl2 (an anti-microbial agent) on protein degradation.
