Titel: Distribution of cadmium and zinc in field and paddy field soils near a zinc smelter
Auteur: Xian, Xingfu
Verschenen in: Journal of environmental science and health. Part A, Toxic/hazardous substances & environmental engineering
Paginering: Jaargang 23 (1988) nr. 2 pagina's 157-167
Jaar: 1988-02
Inhoud: Ten field and paddy field soils which had been polluted with exhausted dust and drainage froa a zinc sielter were sequentially extracted so that Cd and Zn could be partitioned into five operationally defined geochemical fractions: exchangeable, bound to carbonate, bound to Fe-Mn oxide, bound to organic Batter, and residual. The PH and oxidation-reduction condition of soil and pollution way could exert important influence on the distribution of the aetals in geochemical fractions. In field soils with low PH and inorganic C,46,8,19,6, and 21% of total Cd, 17, 8, 23, 9, and 43S of total Zn were found in the exchangeable, carbonate, Fe-Mn oxide, organic and residual fraction, respectively. But in paddy field soils, amount of Cd distributed to the exchangeable, carbonate, Fe-Mn oxide, organic and residual fraction was 51, 14, 29, 3, and 3%, and Zn was 10, 13, 31, 12 and 34%.
