Author: Sigurdson, Eunice E.
Appeared in: Journal of environmental science and health. Part A, Toxic/hazardous substances & environmental engineering
Paging: Volume 17 (1982) nr. 4 pages 463-471
Year: 1982
Contents: The population of Duluth, Minnesota, was exposed to asbestos fibers in the municipal water supply during a recent 17-year period. The methodologies of two studies of that population are briefly described. One is the current cancer incidence study, the other a proposed study of cancer mortality, utilizing the National Death Index. The advantages and disadvantages of each study are reviewed and recommendations presented for the improvement of census taking and for the governmental release of barriers to utilization of Federal records for follow-up of exposed populations in epidemiologic and medical research.
