High resolution capillary gas chromatography and GC/MS were used to determine the concentrations and distribution of aromatic hydrocarbons in tissues of fishes and macroepifauna obtained from an oil producing area in the Central Gulf of Mexico. Although a number of tissues were found to contain relatively low levels of various aromatic hydrocarbons, no instances of massive contamination were found. |
