Title: Sustaining economies of scene
Author: Provost, Daniel
Appeared in: Journal of change management
Paging: Volume 1 (2000) nr. 4 pages 301-311
Year: 2000-12
Contents: The science of management, of organisations and of organisational management is quite complex and full of complexities. Multidimensional and multifunctional models often make difficult the interpretation of multiple variables and of their cross relationships. And they are, in essence, even more likely to be difficult to implement. Albeit somewhat irritating, the reverse approach to building two-by-two matrixes are perhaps done for the ease of simplification, but yet leave out interdependencies that lie beyond their stand-alone framework. The former is more apt to lean towards project management, while the latter has been more embraced by portfolio management. A recent emphasis on programme management is an attempt to link both polarised extremities. This paper thus provides a basis from which to work in applying these parameters for organisational management and is also submitted in an effort towards sustaining economies of scene.
