Inhoud: In the last decade, the research of thought leaders in the field of human resources has positioned the management of human resources (HR) to an elevated level in organizations. In this regard, the “value” of people as “human capital assets” has been well documented and confirmed. This theme has particular relevance for human services organizations that depend on well motivated human resources for successful, productive operations. A study of Boston-based HR professionals resulted in the identification of 10 HR essentials that human services organizations can use to structure their HR programs going forward. The author discusses the rationale for each essential and ideas for organizational implementation.
