The development of behaviourism in Italy is presented, beginning with Virgilio Lazzeroni, who in 1942 published a paper in which he claimed that behaviour was the subject matter of psychology. The behaviourist tradition is relatively young in Italy, due to the influence of the cultural environment centred on idealistic philosophy. The tree of Italian behaviourism has two roots, which can be labelled Pavlovian-reflexiological-psychiatric, and Skinnerian-operant-psychological. The founding of the Italian Association for Behaviour Analysis and Modification (AIAMC, for its initials in Italian) in 1977 was particularly influential. The first ABA International Convention was held in Venice in 2001 and the first Conference of the European Association of Behaviour Analysis was held in Parma in 2003. Other national and international scientific meetings have been organized, and also 4-year postgraduate courses in behaviour analysis and therapy. Almost all of the main books of the behavioural literature have been translated into Italian, and a number of original books by native authors have been published. At the present time behaviourism has reached a fairly good critical mass within psychology in Italy, though it is still a minority if compared with the psychoanalytic approach or to the systemic approach. There is research and practical work on theoretical, clinical, educational, and organizational topics. Le developpement du behaviourisme en Italie a commence en 1942 lorsque Virgilio Lazzeroni publia un article dans lequel il affirmait que le comportement etait un sujet appartenant au domaine de la psychologie. La tradition behaviouriste est relativement jeune en Italie, du a l'influence de l'environnement culturel centre sur la philosophie idealiste. L'arbre du behaviourisme italien presente deux racines qui peuvent etre identifiees comme pavlovienne-reflexologiste-psychiatrique et skinnerienne-operante-psychologique. La fondation de l'Association italienne pour l'Analyse et la Modification du Comportement (AIAMC) etait particulierement influente en 1977. Le premier congres international de l'Association pour l'analyse du comportement fut tenu a Venise en 2001 et la premiere conference de l'Association europeenne d'analyse du comportement a eu lieu a Parma en 2003. D'autres rencontres scientifiques nationales et internationales ont ete organisees, ainsi que des cours universitaires de niveau superieure de 4 annees en analyse et therapie du comportement. Par ailleurs, la plupart des principaux livres portant sur le behaviourisme ont ete traduits en italien et plusieurs livres rediges par des auteurs italiens ont ete publies. De nos jours, le behaviourisme a atteint une masse critique considerable dans le domaine de la psychologie en Italie, quoiqu'il s'agisse encore d'une minorite en comparaison a l'approche psychanalytique ou a l'approche systemique. Nous retrouvons a la fois de la recherche et du travail pratique, autant sur les plans theorique, clinique, academique et organisationnel. Se presenta el desarrollo del conductismo en Italia comenzando por Virgilio Lazzeroni quien en 1942 publico un articulo en el cual afirmaba que el comportamiento era el campo de trabajo de la psicologia. La tradicion conductista es relativamente joven en Italia, debido a la influencia del ambiente cultural centrado en la filosofia idealista. El arbol del conductismo italiano tiene dos raices que pueden denominarse Pavloviana-reflexiologica-psiquiatrica, y Skinneriana-operante-psicologica. La fundacion en 1977 de la Asociacion Italiana de Analisis y Modificacion del Comportamiento (AIAMC, por sus iniciales en italiano) tuvo especial influencia. La primera Convencion Internacional de ABA tuvo lugar en Venecia en 2001, y la primera Conferencia de la European Association of Behaviour Analysis se llevo a cabo en Parma en 2003. Se han organizado otros encuentros nacionales e internacionales y cursos de postgrado de 4 anos en analisis y terapia del comportamiento. Casi todos los principales libros de la literatura conductual se han traducido al italiano y se ha publicado un cierto numero de libros originales de autores nativos. En el momento actual el conductismo ha alcanzado en Italia una masa critica aceptablemente buena dentro de la psicologia, aunque todavia es minoritaria si la comparamos con el enfoque psicoanalitico o el enfoque sistemico. Existe investigacion y trabajo practico en temas teoricos, clinicos, educativos y organizacionales.
