The paper describes a comprehensive interdisciplinary and international research project on factors influencing success and failures of Sino-German joint ventures in the Peoples' Republic of China. It outlines the Gestalt-psychological theoretical basis for the study of cultural and socio-structural factors that induce values and preferences impacting on the efficiency of managerial interactions in joint ventures.
