The study examines pattern reproduction in Scottish and Bukusu samples at four age levels using a modified version of the PATCO test. An error analysis provided support for the view that the cognitive processes underlying pattern reproduction are universal. Significant cultural differences in the frequency of orientation errors were found. These, it was hypothesised, reflected the relative difficulty of differentiating the concept of sameness for Bukusu subjects. The results also confirm previous studies which used Kohs-type figures as stimulus patterns. ľetude examine la reproduction ďun modele aupres de specimens Ecossais et Bukusu testes a 4 niveaux ďage et ce en utilisant une version modifyee du test PATCO.
