Contents: A filled polymer is modelled by stiff cubic particles with parallel faces joined by polymeric interlayers. The particle centres are located at the centre of the lattice of cubic symmetry. Isotropy of such a body is provided by the assumption of “polycrystalline” structure of the model. Based on this model, elastic and viscoelastic properties of a composite body are calculated. Discussion of the results and comparison with the experimental data are given. Efficiency of the possible ways of optimizing the mechanical properties of the filled system is evaluated, and the conditions for applicability of the temperature-time analogy to a composite body are analyzed taking into account the properties of a polymer-filler interface.
