Effect of Ammonium cupric chloride dihydrate (ACCD) as a flame retardant (FR) on the thermal characteristics of some lignocellulosic materials were presented. Their flame propagation rate and afterglow time were drastically reduced as a result of this treatment. Increase in char-formation was also noted. Gravimetric analysis showed that this retardant acted by condensed phase, and vapour phase mechanisms. |
