New effect that is a drastic drop to anomalous low level (< 0.002) of friction cosfficient value in vacuum for steel-polymer friction pares is described. The effect was found by combing polyethylene and polypropylene surface with fast helium atoms simultaneously with friction process. The effect disappears spontaneously after irradiation is ended. |
